It is one of the oldest university in the state. It has been the centre of study for many diciplines and languages. Dept of Geog is also an important department which is known for its work and research. presently Prof Rana Pratap is the head of this dept. Other faculty members are prof. Lallan singh, Prof. Ashok Kumar sinha and Dr. Radhekant. I, Dr. K P Goswami, have studied from this prestigious department of my state and did my doctoral research under Dr. A. K. Sinha.

I still cherish my masters days as the best days of my life. I do remember how helpful Dr. Eqbal Singh, Dr. Arun Singh, Dr. Hajela, Dr. J.P. Srivastava, Dr. Sinha Dr. Ranjeet Verma ..... were when I was doing my M.Sc in 84-86. Sitting here in America I do find similarities(want to hide the summer temp.)in the ways we used to live in Hostel. I wish one-day those golden days will return.....I can take them in my dreams even.

Watch out for the kids that play cricket here. They're engaging but crafty, and they've got a well-practiced grift for unsuspecting and eager-to-give foreign visitors.
